Our Story
A Little About FreeWildShe
Why do we so often save the things we enjoy for special occasions?
The good tea. The interesting bottle we've been meaning to open. The little pleasures we tell ourselves we'll get to once everything else is done.
I've certainly been guilty of it.
I'm Shandrea, the founder of FreeWildShe, an Oregon-based small-batch craft bitters and loose-leaf tea brand. FreeWildShe grew from my love of exploring plants and flavors, and the desire to create something fulfilling. Something that brings together curiosity, creativity, and the simple pleasures of life.

I've always loved trying new foods and flavors, and I rarely make the same recipe twice. That curiosity carries into the blends I create, bringing together unexpected ingredients in ways that feel distinctive but approachable. I'm equally thoughtful about what goes into them, choosing quality botanicals with consideration for how they're grown, sourced, and produced.
Over time, I've come to believe more strongly in something I'm still learning to practice myself: we don't have to earn the things we enjoy.
That might mean discovering a flavor you've never tried, making a cocktail just because it sounds delicious, or taking a break with a favorite cup of tea. It doesn't have to be elaborate or reserved for a special occasion. What matters is choosing the experiences that appeal to you, whatever they happen to be.
What's Behind the Name?
FREE is about the freedom to make our own choices and explore what interests us. WILD reflects our connection to nature and the plants that inspire our blends. SHE represents the self, a reminder that each of us gets to decide what matters and what brings us joy.
My hope is that FreeWildShe inspires you to follow your curiosity, discover what you enjoy, and choose those moments for yourself. No special occasion required.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are bitters?
Bitters are an infusion of high-proof alcohol plus herbs, roots, barks, fruit, spices, and flowers. At least one of the botanicals must taste bitter. They're often added to beverages in drops and dashes to bring balance, complexity, or flavor.
Are FreeWildShe products organic?
Most of the botanicals we use are certified organic, but FreeWildShe is not a certified organic company. We prioritize responsible sourcing practices, fair labor standards, and quality testing.

What do you mean by small-batch?
We produce our bitters and loose-leaf teas in limited quantities, mixing, blending, and packaging everything in-house. This hands-on approach allows us to make thoughtful decisions at every step, maintain consistency, and pay close attention to the quality of each batch.
