As the calendar flips over to autumn, I find myself craving seasonal flavors. This recipe showcases my favorite fall flavors – bourbon, apple cider, and Chamomile Vanilla Bitters.
Cool nights and foggy mornings have returned and harvest is in full swing. Although we live in wine country, we grow cider apples here on the farm. My husband makes hard cider and we never miss an opportunity to enjoy a glass.
Celebrate apple season with this cider cocktail!
3 oz bourbon
1/4 oz cinnamon honey syrup (recipe follows)
sparkling apple cider
20 drops Chamomile Vanilla Bitters
apple slices to garnish
In a mixing glass, stir bourbon & simple syrup with ice until well chilled. Strain into a high-ball glass with ice.
Top with sparkling cider, bitters, & apple slices. Enjoy!
CINNAMON HONEY SYRUP
Heat 2 T honey, 2 T water, & 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder in a pan until all ingredients are combined.
